Old Meddlers

It's not true, it just can't be
I saw her only yesterday
She couldn't have kept that to herself
No chance, not her - no way.

Who told you? Are the facts correct?
It beggars belief for sure
She can't be involved in such a thing
She comes across as being so demure.

Are you sure that you're not mistaken
Is there a mix up in the name?
I know she's a pal of Penny Peachbottom
But I don't think her morals are the same!

Well, I have to say I've heard everything now
And even at this ripe old age
I never thought that the day would come
When such happenings filled me with rage.

I wonder what her Father will say
Her Mother was a 'one' so I'm told
But even so, it's come as a shock
The thought makes my blood run cold.

Come to think of it now, I remember
I stood behind her in the Chemist's queue
And when she turned around and saw me
She didn't know what the heck to do.

So try and find out more at the Hairdressers
And I'll ask the Postman this week
We don't want to appear too nosey
Just concerned and worried, so to speak!
